Jay & Team - I'm sure you are all aware of the recent legislature banning the sales of all Motorcycles and Parts "marketed" to our youth.

This new law went into effect Feb. 10th of this year and is so unbelievable I was hoping that Jay could bring National attention to the issue.

The law is actually the “Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008” which was designed to safeguard our children from playing with toys that contain lead and other bad materials. Motorcycle “haters” have leveraged the fact that motorcycles have certain amounts of lead inherent in various parts/components like battery’s, brake pads, tires, etc. to simply ban them. Period. WOW!

I'm all for protecting our children from toys that are dangerous to their health. But let's get real. Does anyone really think kids are going to take apart their brakes and gnaw on the brake pads. Or better yet, get down and chew on their tires of their motorcycles? They can already walk up to any car on the road and do that if they really wanted to!!

We need help!

p.s. I'm curious as to everyones thoughts on this topic as well. I may just be viewing this new BAN from too personal an angle. What are all your thoughts?

Thanks a ton.

Dave.

I would like to say you are absolutely right. The governments doesn't have any place passing this type of legislation.

It's a symptom of Americans falling asleep at the wheel.

Parents are responsible for keeping hazardous toys out of the hands of children not the feds. Parents and voters need to wake up and do their jobs, as parents and citizens, and vote these fools out of office and get people that will do their job right and be Civil Servants not Civic Leaders.

Its not the government job to be popular or to set social policies, but rather its to provide the basic building blocks for forming a prosperous society and then to get out of the way and let the citizens live their own lives.

If we let foolishness like this continue sooner rather than later it will be illegal to serve your children food that is less than 140* and over 150*, because if its too cool it will make them sick and if its too warm they might burn them selves.

Life doesn't come with training wheels and no act of congress is going to change that.
